Something wicked this way comes, Yikes!

January 31st, 2006

The start of regular updates could well be upon us. This will include new paintings hot off the easel, digital/photo/sketchbook stuff, never before seen work, news of exhibitions, relevant and irrelevant art links and all annotated with cryptic captions, blurbs and squiggles, not to mention ectoplasmic snail trails to boot! Proof in the pud, testing, testing 123 Mafeking Terrace, all systems go go Van Gogh.

Cocahiba CD Artwork

August 25th, 2003

David’s latest commission involved designing the artwork for local band Cocahiba’s latest release.

The design is so effective that the CD duplication & printing facility have requested to use this release as an example of the quality that they can reproduce!

Update: Raad ny Foillan

August 22nd, 2002

Posted: 22nd August 2002
Opening times for the The Courtyard Gallery:
1:00 PM – 5:00 PM Tuesday to Saturday
2:30 PM – 4:30 PM Sunday
10:00 AM – 5:00 PM on Bank Holiday Monday 26th August.

David’s new show Raad ny Foillan is his first major contemporary glass show. As the title “road of the gull” suggests, the theme of the exhibition is a maritime one. Alongside the more traditional format of flat stained glass panels there are many three-dimensional, sculptural works combining mixed media with the jewel-like colour of glass.

David says of the stained glass panels, “When displayed in a window the glass has an extraordinary way of bringing the outside into the home. The coloured glass takes an almost musical aspect as the play of light changes during the day. As if this is not enough in itself, great drama can be achieved easily through artificial illumination when night falls.”

Predominantly the work on show is for domestic situations but a number of larger pieces would make stunning statements for the corporate environment.

David can be commissioned to create site-specific pieces as required (please contact us).
Note there are some new images of the exhibition in the glass gallery.

Redesigned Website

August 2nd, 2002

Well it’s taken a while, but is finally here!

We hope you like the new site design. A lot of effort has gone into making this site’s design as “clean” and useable as possible, so I’m afraid you won’t find any Flash or proprietary plug-ins. What you will find is clean, validated XHTML formatted with validated Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), that should work with any standards-compliant browser.
