Since becoming a full time artist in 1999 I have had two solo exhibitions and numerous group shows as a pastel landscape painter. During this time I was also developing skills as a stained glass artist.
In September 2001 I started my year as Artist in Residence at the Courtyard Gallery. This position has given me the opportunity to bring my glass skills to the fore, culminating in the first major exhibition based around my glass work.
My work draws from all quarters of the Island and celebrates its many facets. I set out to make vivid scenes which respond to the rich experience we receive from our environment. A common denominator to the pictures is the contrasting of pristine highlights with deep sonorous shadows giving gravitas to the tonal aspect of the compositions.
